You are the community I always dreamed of but never knew I needed. You trusted me and AZURE with the most important days of your lives — the perfect look for your job interviews, weddings, graduations, new headshots, first dates, bringing your babies home, award-winning moments. Thank you for sharing these special moments and memories with me, I will cherish them forever!! While there may not be new AZURE arrivals in the future, I’ll always smile seeing you wear these beloved pieces, which, as some might say, only get better with time. Thank you for always showing up for me!
Both current and past, you have stood by my side through it all. I am so grateful to have worked with and next to some of the most brilliant and strongest women over the last 14 years — an accomplishment that surpasses all, owning and operating a women run business! Thank you for inspiring me every day, thank you for challenging me to be a better person and leader, thank you for celebrating the biggest wins with me and being by my side during the lowest of lows, thank you for trusting in my crazy ideas, thank you for embracing my family like your own, and thank you for becoming an extension of my family. I owe you more than you will ever know… with love and admiration!
It truly takes a village, and I am so grateful to have the most amazing one. From day one you have been by my side — helping me paint the store when we first opened, foraging through the woods for pine boughs for our holiday displays, working on the floor when I would go to market before I had my first employee, driving the mini Cooper for DRCT Fashion deliveries, helping me homeschool the kids during COVID. Your support has been unwavering. Thank you for always believing in me and supporting me over the last 14 years! I absolutely would not have been able to create a successful business without you by my side cheering me on every single step of the way!
I would like to announce that as we prepare to close AZURE at the end of the year, we’re also opening the door to new and exciting opportunities for the future of fashion in our community! In an incredible full-circle moment, l.a.cool will be taking over our space in February 2025. I first met Lisa, the owner of l.a.cool, as a customer of AZURE and a few years back, she approached me to chat about her vision of opening a clothing boutique in Traverse City, a place dear to her family. Now, having built an incredible boutique in Traverse City, she’s excited to open a second location right here in our community. She carries some of your favorite brands you are familiar with seeing at AZURE, plus some new and exciting brands! So don’t worry — great fashion will still be right around the corner. WHY IS AZURE CLOSING?
I feel incredibly grateful to have spent the last 14 years doing something I’m so passionate about. I don’t take for granted that not everyone gets to turn what they love into a career, and that’s why I truly consider myself so lucky — and why this decision was such a difficult one.
So why close when we are having the best year yet?! When I started AZURE, I promised myself I had to try because not giving it a shot would be something I’d regret. The same thought crossed my mind when making this decision: I have to try. My kids are growing so fast, and I want to cherish every moment!
