THE ICONIC VERONICA BEARD BLAZER

THE ICONIC VERONICA BEARD BLAZER

Hello all, in today's blog I am going to talk about the Veronica Beard brand and their iconic blazer. Launched in 2010 and based in New York City, Veronica Beard was co-founded by sister-in-laws Veronica Swanson Beard and Veronica Miele Beard.

Veronica Miele Beard was born and raised in northern New Jersey. Her first job was on Wall Street in sales and trading. VMB briefly worked for Ron Galotti at Vogue. She is a mother of 5 and would describe her personal style as eclectic, edgy, and rock & roll. VBM believes in enhancing women personal strengths and features through their individual look. Veronica Swanson Beard is a busy mother of 3 sons. VSB earned a bachelor of arts in art history at Tulane in New Orleans after that she moved to New York to study fashion at Parsons. She started her fashion career in sales at Narciso Rodriguez and Alberta Ferretti. VSB would describe her style to be cool, classic and chic. Fun fact, in their VB Edit (company blog) VSB says that id she wasn't doing what she is now she would flip real estate or decorate.

The Veronica Beard brand started with the concept of dickey. “There existed this concept for men but never for women. We thought ‘it would be a great idea if this if this ultimate classic that has such a span of demographic and purpose- the jacket.” Says Veronica Miele Beard in an interview with Harpers Bazaar in summer 2013. This brand now has a diversity of clothing, from just starting with the jacket they widened their horizon to a full line that includes dresses, tops, jeans, skirts/ bottoms, and accessories.

This brand is women-owned and women designed. “We believe our greatest advantage is that we are women designing for women.” The Veronicas said in their VB Edit fall 2018. We should support women entrepreneurs because women normally do not get the credit and respect in the business world. Women support other women, they know what they want. Women who design for other women want them to feel strong and confident, and chic. Wanting them to feel their very best.

As you may know, their Classic Dickey Jacket is their most iconic blazer and a piece every woman needs in their closet. It is a flattering fit for all sizes since it has a single button in front and a double vent in the back and it runs from size 2 to 14. This jacket is comparable with all Veronica Beard dickeys. It is versatile, comfortable and you can style it in many ways. There are two colors it comes in, black and navy blue, pair each color with a different dickey. This jacket is chic, effortless and easy for on the go. The Veronica’s like to compare their Classic Dickey Jacket to a superwomen cape of sorts. This iconic blazer as been seen on JLo, Gisele, Sarah Jessica Parker, and more celebrities. “The concept of the dickey jacket is our answer to looking classic, chic and versatile without having to think too much about it.” Said Veronica Swanson Beard in Trunk Club blog back in fall 2018. In that same interview, Veronica Miele added, “You can mix and match different dickeys to update your look from day to night without having to change your jacket, making them ideal for dressing on the go.” This jacket makes styling easy! Here are a couple of ways to style; first we have a casual look for the women on the go, pair your black Classic Dickey Jacket with the Veronica Beard Hoodie Dickey, a t-shirt or graphic t-shirt, your favorite jeans and sneakers. Here is a way to dress it up, pair your navy blue or black Classic Dickey Jacket with a Veronica Beard tweed dickey, skirt, dress pants and then heels or mules. I personally have been really liking the blazer trend and I especially like this jacket because of the many dickeys you can pair with it and the feel of the fabric, it is comfortable, a woman truly needs this in her closet.
